Perthshire Big Tree Country has received a £500 donation from Richard Irvin FM Limited through Perth & Kinross Council’s Procurement Department Community Benefits scheme.

Richard Irvin chose to support Perthshire Big Tree Country in planting more trees and restoring Perthshire’s woodlands upon being awarded a facilities management contract with the Council.

Richard Irvin FM Limited is a leading technical facilities management business providing a broad scope of services for commercial property and housing across five key areas: planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, energy management, housing services and projects.

Perthshire Big Tree Country

Perthshire Big Tree Country is managed by Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust (PKCT) and comprises over 200,000 acres of woodlands and more champion trees than anywhere else in the UK. Through the initiative, PKCT delivers enhanced access to and enjoyment of Perthshire’s outstanding tree and woodland heritage.

Perth and Kinross Council is committed to working with communities and businesses to achieve social value from the money they spend. They will do this by including Community Benefit Clauses in as many of their contracts as possible. This Wish List has been compiled from requests made by community groups. Bidding companies are encouraged to use it to develop a Community Benefit offer in every bid submitted. A map showing specific requirements on the Wish List can be found here, examples of previously delivered community benefits can be found here and a YouTube video showing their progress so far.
