Budding nature photographers from across Perth and Kinross were out in force at Quarrymill Woodland Park on Sunday 13 April as Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust’s Wild Moments project got under way.

Wild Moments, now in its second year, takes participants on free guided walks at locations across the region with professional photographer and educator Jo Foo providing photography tips and mindfulness techniques to connect with nature.

Attendees of all ages and stages took the trails on Sunday and were given the knowledge and skills to take spectacular photos of the countryside using their smartphones and cameras.

Speaking about the project, Catherine Leatherland (Discovery, Learning and Engagement Officer – PKCT) said:

“We are delighted to bring Wild Moments back after a successful first year in 2024 thanks to generous funding from The Gannochy Trust.

This year we’re offering more sessions to a wider age range, and will be visiting different locations to make sure that people from across the region have a chance to enjoy Wild Moments, brush up on their photography skills, and enjoy the great outdoors.

If anyone would like to book a place for the sessions in Summer or Autumn, they can do so via our website.”

Jo Foo, a wildlife photographer and educator based in Perthshire who leads the sessions added:

“Photography is a great way to connect with nature. It can slow us down and encourages us to be mindful and appreciate our surroundings.

The Quarrymill Woodland Park is a great location right on the doorstep of the Perth and the spring colours were out in force."

Wild Moments is funded by The Gannochy Trust and free spaces are currently available for all age groups in July and September 2025. For more information or to book your place visit our events page HERE.
