The Auchterarder Hedgehog Highway Project (2024–2026) is a two-year community biodiversity initiative, jointly led by Tayside Biodiversity Partnership and Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust.

It was set up in response to declining hedgehog numbers, caused by habitat loss and fragmentation, and focuses on working closely with local residents, schools, and care homes to connect gardens and create safe routes for hedgehogs to roam freely.

The project also promotes hedgehog-friendly gardening practices and use trail cameras and footprint tunnels to monitor hedgehog abundance and distribution throughout Auchterarder.

The Auchterarder Hedgehog Highway Project (2024–2026) is generously supported through Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust's Supporting Big Tree Country scheme.
