Tayside Biodiversity Partnership

Born out of a historic agreement between three local authorities in 1998, the Tayside Biodiversity Partnership (TBP) is committed to improving biodiversity across the Tayside region. Managed by Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust, it now covers Angus and Perth and Kinross.

Through working with local communities, partners, funders, and volunteers, TBP has helped to deliver a wide variety of projects – from swift conservation to sustainable urban drainage ponds, from pollinator stepping stone projects to the installation of amphibian ladders.

TBP encourages citizen science bio-blitzes, species-based projects, rain gardens, and community orchards, and can provide resources and the expertise needed to improve both habitats and increase populations of our plant and animal species. It is also the founder of the Biodiversity Villages & Towns Initiative.

The Partnership published the Tayside Biodiversity Action Plan, which is currently in its second edition with a third edition planned in 2027.

More information on what TBP has been up to can be found by clicking on the links below to two reports detailing its work.
