Perth and Kinross has a new nature restoration advocate, with Jennifer Davidson joining PKCT as the Trust’s new Conservation and Projects Officer.

Jen was welcomed into her new role on Monday by her predecessor David Tollick, who retires at the end of the month after 3 years with PKCT. Jen joins the from her previous role as Scotland Conservation Officer at the British Dragonfly Society and will work with partners on a range of nature restoration projects, as well as facilitating Nature Connections Partnership P&K, a wide ranging network which brings together many of the region’s conservation enthusiasts and climate focussed organisations.

Speaking on her appointment, Jen said:

I’m delighted to be joining PKCT and continuing David’s great work. There are a range of excellent conservation projects already underway in this part of world and in particular I’m looking forward to getting involved with river restoration and species rich grassland work.

Away from the office, Jen is a keen wild swimmer and downhill mountain biker and added:

The countryside of Perth and Kinross is perfect place to get outdoors. From the lochs of highland Perthshire, to moors of the Cateran Trail and the forests of Big Tree Country, it’s certainly the perfect region for a dip in a loch or to get in the drops and take to the trails. I’m thrilled to be joining an organisation that encourages everyone to enjoy time in nature and I can’t wait to make a difference.
