Perthshire Big Tree Country, which aims to plant more trees and restore Perthshire’s woodlands, has received the first of three £1500 donations from Levenseat Ltd.

Levenseat has supported the much-loved Perthshire Big Tree Country scheme through Perth & Kinross Council’s Procurement Department Community Benefits scheme, upon its award of a recycling contract for the councils street sweepings – yes they are recycled!

Pamela Knox-Welsh, Communications Manager, commented:

Our community engagement initiatives offer us the opportunity to support local based projects that align with our company’s vision and purpose. We are delighted to be supporting the Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust with their Big Tree Country project and helping to contribute to their efforts of maintaining and developing the woodlands in the Perthshire Area.

Peter Quinn, PKCT Trust Director, said:

This level of support for Perthshire Big Tree Country from Levenseat goes a long way to allowing us to conserve the incredible trees across Perthshire and plant more for the longevity of the woodlands, local biodiversity and climate change mitigation. The Council’s Community Benefits scheme is making a big difference to so many local charities and causes, so we’d like to thank them again for the opportunity to be a part of it.

Perth and Kinross Council is committed to working with communities and businesses to achieve social value from the money they spend. They do this by including Community Benefit Clauses in as many of their contracts as possible. A Wish List for Community Benefits is compiled of community groups and their projects.
