Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust (PKCT) welcomes its new Conservation Officer, David Tollick, to its team.

David will be responsible for carrying out biodiversity, conservation and climate change related projects across Perthshire.

He will also be involved with developing a new nature-based vision for Perth and Kinross through long-term landscape-scale ecological restoration that could transform the environment of the area for the people who live and work here, and for those who visit.

As PKCT’s Conservation Officer, David will also work across multi-stakeholder conservation projects for the conservation of globally threatened conifer species in Perthshire and supporting managers of nationally important tree collections.

David commented:

I’m really looking forward to this new and exciting opportunity. More and more people are keen to restore nature in our lives and in our landscape, and I’ll be more than happy to help to turn their enthusiasm into practical projects across the area.

He will lead the charge on PKCT’s new involvement with local biodiversity and species conservation in keeping with our continued aims of allowing everyone to enjoy, learn about and treasure Perthshire’s incredible countryside.

PKCT is an independent charity that negotiates access to land, builds paths, helps care for the countryside and undertakes conservation projects all to improve and promote access to the countryside for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. It manages Perthshire Big Tree Country, the Cateran Trail, and Perthshire Conifer Conservation Programme; is developing the River Tay Way; and works with communities.
