Perthshire Nature Connections Partnership

Perthshire Nature Connections Partnership (PNCP) logo

Perthshire Nature Connections Partnership (PNCP) encompasses a long-term, nature-based vision for Perth and Kinross that aims to create a distinct connection between the Cairngorms and Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Parks.

As an integrated landscape-scale ecological restoration project, PNCP provides connections to create and re-establish a sustainable and resilient landscape in Perthshire that provides environmental, health and wellbeing, and socio-economic benefits to local communities, landowners and land managers.

Perthshire Nature Connection Partnership – a natural capital way forward

PNCP has now reported where our area can deliver vitally important landscape changes, supporting biodiversity and addressing climate change. Landscape change will put Natural Capital ‘in the bank’ for us all – we have been overdrawn for too long.

Our transition to a nature-based landscape needs supporting. Our area includes sparsely populated and remote areas, and significant but seasonal tourist activity. Some national wildlife treasures in the area face an uncertain future.

Our local communities can be as nature-based as can any area’s communities – they are adaptable and innovative; but they must not be left behind. The landscape is not ‘urban’ or ‘rural’ capital – it is natural capital for everyone.

The report now provides a reasonable framework, and action on the ground is part of a long-game – but the time for landscape-scale change has arrived. PNCP’s work now is to enable change-projects to deliver, however best we can.  We are now seeking new partners – businesses, communities and land-managers. Please make contact to show your support.
