Perthshire Nature Connections Partnership

Perthshire Nature Connections Partnership (PNCP) logoPerthshire Nature Connections Partnership (PNCP) encompasses a long-term, nature-based vision for Perth and Kinross that aims to create a distinct connection between the Cairngorms and Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Parks.

As an integrated landscape-scale ecological restoration project, PNCP provides connections to create and re-establish a sustainable and resilient landscape in Perthshire that provides environmental, health and wellbeing, and socio-economic benefits to local communities, landowners and land managers.

About more than just nature...

Healthy, robust and dynamic ecosystems will sustain the lives and livelihoods of vibrant, largely rural communities through, for example, skills development, tourism, quality food, fishery and timber production and climate change resilience, enabling current and future generations to thrive and enjoy our remarkable countryside.

PNCP aims to help scale-up and join existing green, nature-based initiatives to create valuable corridors and significant areas abundant in native wildlife both within and linking to those beyond the Perth and Kinross boundary.

It will also encompass actions that enable and support action on climate change and carbon capture, as well as active land management for ecological benefit, flood/drought mitigation and water quality.

Partnering with PNCP

PNCP facilitates connections and identifies possible actions to help land managers, communities and businesses bridge the gaps, engage one another, better support nature, mitigate climate change and carbon sequestration, and restore ecosystems.

What we are doing to accelerate change...

We are now working one-to-one with anyone with an interest and in nature-based solutions, while identifying possible linkages and bridging connections that can be realised across Perthshire. PNCP will then start exploiting opportunities and delivering action and change for nature on the ground. PNCP will work up proposals with partners on funding actions, nature restoration and enhancement, and climate change adaption and mitigation through land management.

Get involved

Speak to any of the steering group about your interest – we are all working together.
