Wildlife Watch Leaders main tasks include planning and preparing sessions; collecting and storing data securely; delivering quality environmental education to children aged 8-12 years old; working as part of a team; and supporting promotion of the group.

Volunteers of all ages and abilities with an enthusiasm to work with children, a willingness to inspire children about nature and wildlife, and a creative flare are welcome to apply to be a leader.

This new Perth Wildlife Watch Group is being established by Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust (PKCT), an independent charity that develops access to land, builds paths, cares for Scotland’s most spectacular trees and woodlands, provides education and engagement opportunities, and works on conservation projects all to improve and promote access to the Perthshire countryside.

Catherine Leatherland, PKCT’s Discovery, Learning and Engagement Officer, said:

We love conserving, promoting, and educating everyone about nature, so launching a Perth Wildlife Watch group is a perfect way to connect with local nature enthusiasts who love teaching children about the joys and wonders of the outdoors, and provide an opportunity to build leadership skills and be in nature. I really look forward to working with the leader volunteers!
