Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust (PKCT) celebrated its 25th anniversary on Friday (March 4, 2022) and invites everyone across Perthshire to celebrate and become a friend.

PKCT is a charity that has been improving, conserving, promoting, and developing access to Perthshire’s incredible countryside for a quarter of a century.

To help celebrate this landmark occasion, PKCT has launched its Friends of PKCT scheme, which will allow anyone who loves the outdoors of Perthshire to donate as little as £3 per month to help make Perthshire the most accessible countryside in Scotland.

Peter Quinn, PKCT’s Trust Director, said:

We welcome everyone to help us do what we do best for another 25 years and beyond. Since 1997, we have had a great time making the outdoors more accessible for everyone by working with organisations, community groups and individuals across the whole of Perth and Kinross. Being outdoors is excellent for mental and physical health and wellbeing, and our Friends will help make that reality more widespread for the benefit of residents and visitors.

From just £3 per month, PKCT’s Friends would help the team to install waymarkers and benches;  design new interpretation; educate everyone on natural impacts; plant more trees; employ a part-time ranger; and upgrade more paths to multi-user, all-abilities standards.

Peter continued:

We have a whole swathe of events and celebrations planned during our 25th year to mark our quarter of a century making a meaningful impact to Perth and Kinross. From top 25 lists, tree plantings, and an event with our patron, Cameron McNeish, we will be busy making this year exciting and remarkable.
