Perthshire Big Tree Country, which comprises over 200,000 acres of stunning woodlands, has a new supporter with three business divisions dedicated to help conserve and protect Perthshire’s iconic trees.

Bachilton Barn – Central Wedding Venue of the Year 2022 – and its offshoots Bachilton Farm Holidays and BlueSky Experiences have become the latest members of the Supporting Perthshire Big Tree Country initiative.

The scheme – administered by Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust (PKCT), who manage Perthshire Big Tree Country – allows hotels, B&Bs and businesses of all sizes across Perthshire to broaden their green credentials and help conserve Perthshire’s tree heritage and improve access to it for everyone to enjoy now and in the future.

The new supporters plan to help raise funds for Perthshire Big Tree Country per bookings, i.e. Bachilton Barn will donate £40 per wedding, Bachilton Farm Holidays will donate £1 for every direct booking and £7 from each wedding for accommodation, and BlueSky Experiences will raise £15 for every one of their incredible group experiences.

Kayleigh Deans, Wedding Manager, said:

Everyone at BlueSky Experiences and Bachilton Barn and Farm Holidays appreciates the rich outdoors we are spoiled with here in Perthshire and realises how important it means to our guests and the natural environment. We look forward to helping look after and maintain all of the ‘big trees’ in Perthshire and help get new ones planted. We would like to thank all of our guests who choose to opt into our Big Tree Country donations, which will contribute towards the area’s beautiful future.

Peter Quinn, PKCT’s Trust Director, commented:

Welcoming like-minded organisations into our Perthshire Big Tree Country supporters’ scheme is truly rewarding. Businesses and individuals across Scotland and beyond are facing tough financial times right now, so we are particularly grateful to Bachtilton, BlueSky and their guests for supporting the educational, access and conservation work we do!
