Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust have already spent over £0.75 million on projects along the River Tay Way on both the walking and cycling routes!

Current projects

New visitor facilities and information hub to welcome visitors to Highland Perthshire.

To be open year-round for the benefit and comfort of active travellers, the new welfare hub is being built in the Aberfeldy Car Park next to Beyond Adventure and will feature accessible and family-friendly facilities, waste disposal facilities for the growing number of motorhome users touring the area, and an information hub for the River Tay Way. 

Works began December 2022 and are expected to finish June 2023.

Past projects

£250k upgrade to NCN 77 at Almondbank and the North Inch

1.3 km of path from Lows Work Cottages to beyond the Waterside were upgraded to improve accessibility and create a modern, multi-user path suitable for cyclists, walkers, wheelchair users and others.

As part of the project, over 265 m of the NCN 77 at the North Inch were also be repaired and levelled out to make the user experience more enjoyable and safer. A diversion will also be in place during these works.

These project works were funded by Sustrans.

£500k upgrade to NCN 77 at Dunkeld 

We invested £500k to upgrade over 2.2 km of the National Cycle Network (NCN) 77 at Dunkeld between Dunkeld House Hotel to Jubilee Bridge.

The upgrades have improved accessibility by creating a modern, multi-user path suitable for walkers, cyclists, wheelchair users and others.

£15k upgrade to core paths at Aberfeldy

PKCT worked with the Upper Tay Paths group to upgrade boggy core paths around Aberfeldy.
