Fraser Stewart headshot © Fraser Stewart Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust (PKCT) has welcomed a new member to the team to help promote and improve access to Perthshire’s natural environment and conserve its rich landscape, greenspaces, and expansive biodiversity. Fraser Stewart, from Auchterarder, joins PKCT as the Trust’s new Marketing and Communications Officer ahead of a busy visitor season in Perth and Kinross with scores of nature tourists flocking to the county. PKCT’s newest member moved to Perth and Kinross during the pandemic after spending most of his life living and working in the northeast of Scotland. Having grown up in Aberdeenshire, Fraser attended university in Aberdeen where he studied History and Politics before achieving an MSc in Corporate Communication and Public Affairs. He joins the team with a background at Aberdeenshire Council and Food Standards Scotland. Fraser said: I am really excited to get started working towards making the Perthshire countryside more accessible for all and I am looking forward to working for a charity that improves the greenspaces in and around the county that I already explore and appreciate. Peter Quinn, Trust Director at PKCT, commented: Fraser brings a wealth of Marketing and Communication experience to PKCT and he will be a very valuable member of the team as we build towards our new Strategic Plan in April 2024. Fraser will help promote nature walks and tree trails at Big Tree Country sites, improve and enhance the Cateran Trail and new River Tay Way, and market the Trust’s education and conservation work across Perth and Kinross. When not at work, Fraser can be found tootling around country lanes on his bike, attempting to grow his own fruit and vegetables (with, his words, “limited success”), and spending time with his young family.
