Works are expected to last for about one week and will include 183 m of new path surface, repairs to steps, and tree and hedge work.

Bid Strachan, Perth & Kinross Countryside Trust (PKCT) Communities Officer, who is managing the project, said:

A section of the Black Road path will be closed for the duration of the works and for about a month afterwards to allow the new path to settle properly. Despite extensive investigations, PKCT has not been able to find anyone who claims ownership of the Black Road path. Therefore, we plan to upgrade it without written permission from the owner. However, if anyone knows who owns this path, please contact PKCT at [email protected] or on 01738 476 100. Also, if any householder would like to keep the material cut from their own trees or shrubs where they overhang the path, please get in touch with us and we will arrange for it to be placed in your garden rather than it being chipped.
