Children aged 8 to 12 are welcome along to have fun outdoors at the South Inch in Perth on Saturday, 12 November 2022, from 10am to 12 noon.

A fun-filled morning of outdoor activities, like an autumn scavenger hunt and follow the animal leader, is being hosted by the new Perth Wildlife Watch group.

Spaces are limited, so book your children’s spaces at this fun-filled morning by emailing PKCT’s Discovery, Learning and Engagement Officer at [email protected].

The new Perth Wildlife Watch Group, part of the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s nationwide network of children’s nature clubs, will take place on the second Saturday of each month for children in and around Perth to enjoy getting outside, learning about nature and wildlife, developing new skills, and making new friends.

These sessions will take place at greenspaces in and around Perth, giving the children chance to explore new places, and get to know familiar ones even better

Perth Wildlife Watch is being launched by local environmental charity Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust (PKCT) and is funded by The Gannochy Trust and The Forteviot Charitable Trust.

Catherine Leatherland, PKCT’s Discovery, Learning and Engagement Officer, said:

We are so excited to welcome children along to have some great outdoor fun as part of the new Perth Wildlife Watch group. We’ll support our new volunteer leaders, who will lead the children in a variety of activities each month to get them interested in wildlife and nature while having a lot of fun. Each month’s event will have a different relevant wildlife or seasonal theme, to make sure there’s something new and exciting for the children to experience at all times of year.

Holly Owens, People and Wildlife Officer at Scottish Wildlife Trust, commented:

It’s great to partner with Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust to open a new Perth Wildlife Watch Group. I think it will be a great opportunity for volunteers and members of the group to explore all over Perth at different sessions and dive into some amazing wildlife activities. I look forward to supporting the group and can’t wait for their exciting launch!
