An area with an intriguing past featuring the world’s largest tree species and a history of fruit bearing. 

Discover how an impressive avenue of arboreal giants pays tribute to a local visionary and his gold-panning sons.

And it’s not just people of the past that have helped shaped the Carse of today.  One local primary school decided to turn a threat into an opportunity in a very creative manner. The result of its efforts provides a lovely addition to the local landscape.  

Throughout the Carse, the range of produce inspired by Scotland’s longest established fruit growing area is very much in evidence. As a result of local and historical concern, the diminishing orchards are once again blossoming with fruit yields increasing from two to 45 tonnes in just three years … definitely something worthy of celebration.
