A number of feral pigs, which escaped from a nearby Perthshire estate, are living on Alyth Hill. Action is being taken to control and remove the pigs but walkers are advised to be aware of this situation.

If you are walking on Alyth Hill you may come across feral pigs.  Pigs with young may perceive you or dog as a threat and behave aggressively. You should keep your dog on a lead and use an alternative route if pigs are active on the road ahead.

The pigs are usually nocturnal, foraging in early morning or late afternoon and evening. Any sightings should be reported to the Tay Forest District Office on 0300 067 6380.
