About Us

The Trust attracts funds from various sources to:

"provide and promote high quality opportunities for access and recreation throughout Perth & Kinross for the benefit of the community as a whole"

It supports a wide range of projects including:

  • developing path networks around towns and villages
  • creating longer routes, e.g. cycle trails
  • funding community schemes that develop access for all
  • assisting land managers with initiatives that enhance access

Since formation in 1997 the Trust has:

  • established path networks in and around Dunkeld, Crieff and Blairgowrie
  • created the Cateran Trail - Scotland’s only circular long distance walk
  • repaired mountain footpaths
  • provided information that increases understanding of our surroundings
  • attracted significant funding to Perth and Kinross

Organisation

The Trust is a partnership between, and is funded by: Perth and Kinross Council; Scottish Natural Heritage; Scottish Enterprise Tayside; Forestry Commission Scotland and the Gannochy Trust.

Representatives from the above organisations, as well as from tourism, recreational, community and landowning interests, form its governing body.

The Trust welcomes contributions to support its work.
